People use phrases like “hands were dirty” or “they have blood on their hands” to mean that someone is doing wrong or that someone is involved in murder or causing another person’s destruction. Pontius Pilate knew that Jesus was not guilty and did no crime that Jesus should die on the cross. Pontius Pilate did not want to be guilty of killing Jesus, an innocent (not guilty) man.   Matthew 27:4   “When Pilate saw that he could do nothing about this and that a riot was starting, he (Pilate) took some water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. Then Pilate said, “I am not guilty of this man’s (Jesus’) death. You are the ones who are causing it!” Pilate washed his hands as a symbol that he was not guilty. God wants us to pray and seek Him to live godly lives. Let’s sing this song and ask God to look at our hearts and teach us to right. Let’s have spiritual clean hands and pure hearts.
